At the heart of Bucasia Beach Women's Health is Sari Jurczyluk, a dedicated women’s health therapist and a proud 2025 JSP Health and Well-being Warrior achiever. Sari’s journey into this transformative field is driven by a profound, personal connection, shaped by her own lived experiences. Her work is far more than a profession—it’s a passion, a true calling. Whether supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or navigating the complexities of grief, Sari is unwavering in her mission to walk alongside women, offering care, empathy, and empowerment at every stage of their journey.
“To ‘doula’ means to serve women,” Sari explains. “It’s a term I really love because it’s so diverse and sums up the many ways we can support a woman. Through fertility and pregnancy, their birth experiences, postpartum, and even through loss and grief.”
Sari’s career began in palliative care, but a fateful encounter redirected her path. “I crossed paths with a truly fabulous lady who told me I was working in the ‘wrong end of life,’ and that I should be in maternity. Somehow, I fell out of end-of-life support and into birth support and I haven’t looked back.”
Sari’s unique blend of training and experience in techniques including remedial massage, acupuncture, acupressure, pelvic balancing, hypnobirthing, and bereavement counselling offers a holistic approach to women’s health.
“As a women’s health therapist, I offer services to support women physically, emotionally, and mentally,” she says.
In January 2025, Bucasia Beach Women’s Health officially relocated to Stanley House on Discovery Lane, joining forces with Women’s Health Physio Mackay. The move places Sari closer to essential hospitals and services, allowing her to better serve families. Especially those facing the heartbreak of loss.
“As a Red Nose ambassador, it’s important that I am available to support families through miscarriage and infant loss. Being based at Stanley House just made sense,” she says.
The new space also offers opportunities for collaboration and community. Sari shares “I have the highest respect for Lauren Neill and her team, as well as my fellow healthcare providers all around our area, especially in Stanley house. And I can’t speak highly enough of Dr Ritu of Ritu Rana Medical.”
Bucasia Beach Women’s Health will continue to offer a diverse range of services, including pregnancy and doula care services, antenatal and postpartum support, and workshops in Spinning Babies and Hypnobirthing. The clinic also provides workplace education on bereavement support through the Red Nose and SANDS foundations. Additionally, introducing a new retail line featuring custom birth combs and slings for hire, in collaboration with Joey and the Willow. These offerings ensure that the clinic remains a vital resource for women, empowering them with the tools and support they need throughout their unique journeys.
Sari’s creativity shines not only in her therapy but in her hobbies where upcycling vintage pieces and painting large-scale canvases now decorate her home. “Some of my favourite pieces include a clawfoot bath turned into a lounge and a tallboy created from vintage suitcases.”
What’s one health myth you would like to debunk?
“That ‘menopause happens suddenly’, nope absolutely not! It takes years for hormones to change and plenty of symptoms along the way.” And “all ages and stages of women’s health need to be supported. I encourage all women to feel valued and heard.”
