Powering North Queensland With SpinFX NQ
Jesse Spina, owner, director, and electrician, has been running SpinFX NQ for over six years, establishing the business as a trusted provider of solar, electrical, and air-conditioning solutions across North Queensland. His passion for the trade and commitment to community are central to the business, along with the occasional support of his two loyal canine companions, Luna and Luigi.
Starting SpinFX NQ in July 2019, Jesse says, “After a short period of subcontracting to other businesses, I decided to step out and start completing my own jobs — firstly, advertising hydro cleans, which was quite a hit! From hydro cleaning came lighting and power point installs, then onto completing my air-conditioning installer licence.”
As demand grew, Jesse expanded his team and, in 2024, rebranded the business to SpinFX NQ. The company recently relocated to 1/102 Herbert Street, where clients can explore the new showroom. “I made it a priority to provide electrical services to my community as well as remote areas like Georgetown and Croydon,” he explains.
That same spirit of connection extends to the workplace, where Luna and Luigi are regular visitors, "The staff love having them around, and when they meet our clients, the pups soak up every bit of attention they can get” Jesse says.
SpinFX NQ’s reputation continues to grow, with nominations for Master Electrician of the Year North QLD, Project of the Year, and Small Business of the Year North QLD. Jesse attributes much of his work ethic to lessons learned from his parents. “The way they treat clients and staff truly resembles how I conduct myself in business,” he says.
He also places strong value on team culture and training. “It’s about creating an environment where everyone feels respected and supported. When you invest in your team, it naturally leads to better collaboration and loyalty.”
After long days or weeks away, Jesse finds balance at home with his pups. “They remind me to slow down, switch off, and recharge,” he says. Their calming presence — along with their occasional mischief — helps keep things light amid the challenges of running a business.
Looking ahead, Jesse is proud of how far SpinFX NQ has come and remains focused on growth and community service. “I’m very happy with where my business is now. I’ve come so far in what feels like a short amount of time,” he says. For Jesse and his ever-supportive team members, four-legged or otherwise, delivering dependable, high-quality solutions will always remain the priority.
