Dr Dee Hacking has dedicated her career to making women feel their best, providing holistic support at Alfred St Mackay Allied Health Clinic, employing alternative medicine and therapies that, simply put, make her clients feel good.
“My goal is to reconnect you with your body’s natural ability to heal and thrive,” Dr Dee states. To do so, she employs homeopathic medicine, remedial massage, hypnotherapy, shiatsu, reflexology, frequency therapies, and mind-body connection practices.
With 31 years in business and a string of credentials to her name, Dr Dee has approached life with a tenacity to learn as a self-proclaimed ‘yes-woman’, believing that “true growth occurs, and your light shines brightest when you are doing the things that you don't ‘feel’ like doing”.
Dr Dee pivoted into homeopathy from her role as an autopsy physician, deciding she “wanted to work with someone with a pulse”. She remembers that as a child she dreamt of being a marine biologist, medical doctor, an artist and an author. Being unable to dive in deep water, she became three out of the four.
Dr Dee’s career highlights include opening her own small publishing house, writing her own books, and healing the local community of Mackay. Her peers were at times doubtful one woman could accomplish so much.
“I was told over and over to quit; that it was too much, I was mad for being so dedicated, and I would burn out,” Dee relays. But, she is strong in her resolve that, “As a successful woman, you can do what you want the most, and have it all, and be it all too.”
The key, for Dee? It’s about focusing on consistent, intentional, everyday actions that nourish your body, mind, social interactions, and self-empowerment. “When you feel that you’ve got this,” she says, “Then, you do. ”
