If you're ready to start your fitness journey but unsure where to begin, Results Personal Training Mackay (RPTM) offers a dynamic, results-driven solution. Every session is different — no repetitive routines — ensuring clients stay challenged, engaged, and steadily progressing towards their goals.
RPTM provides a diverse range of training styles, including Group Fitness, Small Group personal training and 1:1 Training. Group Sessions include circuit training, resistance based workouts, boxing and full body movements. This variety is key to delivering maximum results in minimum time.
Owner Linda Rankin said she "fell into" the fitness industry after selling her previous business.
"A good friend of mine, who owned RPTM at the time, suggested I study my Certificate III and IV and become a trainer for her," she said. "When she later moved away, I purchased the business in 2014 and was able to take it in my own direction."
Originally operating as outdoor boot camps, RPTM transitioned into a fully equipped studio in 2016.
"Moving into our own space meant we could offer more structured programs, utilise a wider range of equipment, and help clients achieve even better results," Linda said.
A key part of RPTM’s success has been its small group personal training model, limiting sessions to just four people.
"It’s like one-on-one personal training but at a shared cost," Linda said. "With fewer people, we can give clients far more attention, ensuring they train safely, correctly, and reach their goals faster. It sets us apart from larger group classes and conventional gyms."
Linda emphasised that the gym’s core focus is getting people moving, acknowledging that there will always be excuses to delay starting, but taking that first step is what truly counts. With a strong emphasis on empowering women, RPTM encourages women to prioritise their fitness and well-being, making themselves a top priority in their health journey.
What is a health myth that you wish to debunk?
MYTH: Lifting weights will make you bulky.
“It’s just not possible for most people, especially women. Building that kind of size takes extreme, specialised training, years of consistency, and determination.”
MYTH: carbs will make you fat.
“It’s surprising how many people, especially women, are still afraid to eat carbs. But carbs are essential — they fuel our brains, our bodies, and even support weight loss when eaten in balance. Cutting them out does far more harm than good.”
