Turning 60 might prompt some people to slow down. For award-winning real estate agent Stacey Arlott, it simply marks another milestone in a remarkable career defined by resilience, passion and results.
Celebrating her 60th birthday on the 4th of March, Stacey brings more than two decades of industry experience to the table – a career built not only on strong outcomes but on genuine relationships with the people she serves.
This year also marks Stacey’s 26th year in real estate, a journey that began with a simple suggestion from a friend. At the time, Stacey had already built a strong foundation in people-focused roles, working as a hairdresser before managing fashion and jewellery stores in Mackay.
Those early roles proved invaluable.
“You learn to listen to people,” she said.
“I’ve always had empathy and compassion and great listening skills, and I was also a great salesperson. It was probably just a natural progression that I went into sales and then into real estate.”
Since then, Stacey has become one of the region’s most recognisable names in property, working under the banner of REMAX while essentially running her own business within the system.
Real estate, she explains, is far from routine.
“Everything can change on a daily basis,” she said.
“Mondays are extremely busy because you’re doing all your vendor feedback, your contracts and following up from the weekend’s open homes.”
And then there are Saturdays. These are the days Stacey calls “game day.”
“They’re the days we take our properties to the market and the days we’re hoping to secure contracts for our sellers.”
Her drive and consistency have earned her some of the industry’s highest honours, including a national award, REB Dealmakers for Australia in 2021, the only person to have achieved this regionally. In addition, #1 REMAX in Australia consistently, the Lifetime Achievement Award (2024), Diamond Club Member (2021–2024) and multiple RateMyAgent Agent of the Year awards for Mackay. These achievements sit alongside her long-standing recognition in the REMAX Hall of Fame, Platinum and Titan Clubs, and years of top-ranking results in Queensland and nationally.
“To be ranked number one in Australia was huge,” she said.
“I’m not afraid to push for the best results and speak honestly in negotiations. I persist where others might give up, which is why I consistently achieve strong outcomes.
“As women, we can sometimes underestimate our abilities or wait until we feel completely ready before stepping forward, when in reality growth often comes from taking opportunities even when we feel uncertain.”
She also acknowledges that success can come with its challenges.
“Not everyone will support your success, and that’s okay. The key is to stay focused on your goals, trust your instincts and surround yourself with people who genuinely want to see you succeed.”
While real estate remains a passion, Stacey admits there is now something else competing for her heart – her grandchildren.
“I have a passion for real estate,” she said, “but it has been overtaken by the love I now have for my three beautiful grandchildren.”
With more travel on the horizon and a career that shows no signs of slowing, Stacey’s story is one driven by purpose, persistence and heart.
At 60, she isn’t closing a chapter.
She’s simply turning the page.
