Boremetrics Maintenance & Engineering Powers Ahead

From sugar mills and ports to draglines, shovels, and CHPP shutdowns, Boremetrics Maintenance & Engineering is fast becoming a name synonymous with quality, speed, and reliability in Queensland’s industrial sector.

Based in Mackay and proudly owned and operated by Luke Temple, Boremetrics has grown into a 30-strong permanent team, with a wider pool of 50-plus professionals deployed during peak shutdown periods.

“We’re a medium-sized company focused on mining and agricultural industries – we work on everything from sugar mills to heavy industrial,” Luke says.

“We’ve built our name on quality workmanship, quick turnarounds, and having the right people on the job.”

Boremetrics delivers mechanical fitting, boilermaking, and trade support across fixed plant, hydraulic systems, conveyors, pumps, and ports. Their niche lies in supplying skilled mechanical fitters and turners with strong hydraulic backgrounds to industries including ports, sugar, coal, and even gold.

“We’re big on quality, and I believe what sets us apart is not just supplying 100 people, but supplying the right people – people who care about their work, want to do it safely, and look out for each other.”

One standout service is their OEM-compatible pump rebuilds, which use high-spec components designed for durability, delivering improved reliability without aftermarket compromise.

“We’re seeing better reliability because we don’t use aftermarket parts – we use gear that’s made properly, and made to last.”

Luke entered the industry in 2018 as a solo contractor in WA, but it was during his return home amid COVID that the vision for a larger business took shape. The company officially launched in 2022, quickly gaining momentum as a growing team operation.

“It was tough at the start, but I stayed passionate and persistent,” he says.

“I think small companies have an advantage… we can mobilise fast and do the job right.”

Together with wife Annalise, who supports operations and logistics, the business remains grounded in values.

With expansion underway in Townsville and larger workshops on the horizon, Boremetrics continues to scale with purpose.

“It’s about saying what you’re going to do, and doing it. To under-promise and over-deliver every time, is something we strive for.”
